SHOULD I GET THE COVID 19 VACCINE?
The Physicians of our practice recommend in the strongest terms that you get the COVID 19 vaccine as soon as it is available to you. There may be rare exceptions for those who have had an immediate or severe allergic reaction to the COVID 19 vaccine or any of its ingredient. The CDC recommends that people with a history of severe allergic reactions not related to vaccines or injectable medications- such as food, pet, venom, environmental, or latex allergies- get vaccinated. People with a history of allergies to oral medications or a family history of severe allergic reactions may also get vaccinated.
If you have specific questions regarding your specific circumstances as to whether you should get the vaccine, please schedule an appointment with your doctor to discuss the issue. Please DO NOT CALL OUR OFFICE with this question; our phones have recently been overwhelmed due to this.
WHERE CAN I GET A COVID 19 VACCINE?
We are hoping we will receive an allocation of vaccine to give our patients at our offices. When we do we will notify affected patient groups by automated phone call, emails and posting to our web page and facebook page. Keep checking back for updates. For now, we recommend registering with any local source of the vaccine, which, for now includes Tidelands Health System, Grand Strand Medical Center and Conway Medical Center, and we have heard of several local pharmacies who have had limited availability. This is a fast moving target, so keep searching, and if you have the opportunity to sign up with a provider, sign up!
